Professional Certificate in Advanced Aesthetic

OVERVIEW

The Professional Certificate in Advanced Aesthetic (Program code: PCAA) is an International Certification Program for Nurses, Aestheticians & Spa Owners who want to start and excel their career in Advanced Aesthetic their country or abroad.

The Professional Certificate in Advanced Aesthetic conducted by the International Institute of Wellness & Aesthetic Medicine (IIWAM) is the only Aesthetic course that comes with Certificates that are awarded by Malaysian Ministry of Education, City & Guilds of London, CPD Standards Office (UK) and European University (Paris).

The aim of this Program is to teach the principles of Aesthetic science and ensure Learners will be knowledgeable and ethical in their practice. Since the regulation for the practice of Aesthetics varies from country to country, it is imperative that Learners abide by the rules & regulations as set forth by their local health council or regulators with regards to their eligibility to administer Aesthetic procedures.

PATHWAY

The Program is conducted onsite over 5-continuous days, with Theory lectures in the morning and Clinical demonstration in the afternoon. Learners are also given access to the Institute’s online library which has over thousands of journals and Clinical papers, and videos.

The Theory lectures and discussion will be conducted using the slides and Clinical journals from the Institute’s online library. These will be followed by Clinical demonstration and Learners are required to observe the procedures. There will be a final written exam on the last day of the Program.

By the end of the Program, Learners will:

  • Have improved their theoretical knowledge in Advanced Aesthetic significantly.
  • Be familiar with regulatory practices surrounding an Aesthetic practice.
  • Be able to understand the different Aesthetic pharmaceutical & devices for Aesthetic procedures.
  • Be able to assist in Aesthetic Medical procedures.
  • Be able to identify and understand Aesthetic Medical complications.
  • Be able to operate an Aesthetic practice.

In order to successfully complete the Professional Certificate in Advanced Aesthetic Program, Learners need to:

  • Achieve minimum 75% attendance criteria.
  • Pass the Written Exam.
  • Maintain as a practitioner in good standing.

Learners who pass the written exam and complete the Program shall receive the following Certificates:

  • Certificate of Training in Skincare Science, from IIWAM and Malaysian Ministry of Education (MOE).
  • Assured Certificate in Principles of Advanced Aesthetic, from IIWAM and City & Guilds of London.
  • Continuous Professional Development Program in Advanced Aesthetic, from IIWAM and CPD Standards Office (UK).
  • Professional Certificate in Advanced Aesthetic, from European International University (Paris), issued during the annual graduation ceremony.

The Advanced Aesthetic theory lectures are very detailed and unlike any other Programs. Trainers will cover important chapters, Clinical papers and slides from each topic. Trainers will advise Learners on how to use the Online Aesthetic Medical Library and areas to focus for each topic. Learners are advised to review the slides and other contents before and after each lecture series.

  • Principles of Botulinum Science.
  • Botulinum Science in Aesthetic Medicine.
  • Principles of Dermal Fillers (DF).
  • Understanding Filler Related Complications.
  • Principles of Laser Skin Rejuvenation, Laser Hair Removal, Laser Tattoo Removal and Surgical Laser.
  • Chemical Peel and Chemical Skin Rejuvenation.
  • Microdermabrasion and Skin Rejuvenation.
  • Wound Healing & Skin Rejuvenation

The Trainers will demonstrate several Aesthetic procedures for Learners to observe, such as:

  • Botulinum Toxin for facial lines & wrinkles and brow reshaping.
  • Botulinum Toxin for facial recontouring and / or hyperhidrosis.
  • Dermal Filler for facial lines & folds.
  • Dermal Filler for nose, lip, chin or midface augmentation.
  • Laser Skin Rejuvenation using Q-Switch NdYAG (1064 nm, 532 nm) Laser and Fractional CO2 (10,600 nm) Laser.
  • Laser for Pigmentary Disorders and Laser Tattoo Removal with Q-Switch NdYAG (1064 nm, 532 nm) Laser.
  • Laser Hair Removal with Long Pulse NdYAG (1064 nm) Laser and Long Pulsed Diode (810 nm) Laser.
  • Carbon Peel using Q-Switch NdYAG (1064 nm) Laser.
  • Chemical peel, including combination peel (Glycolic Acid & Modified Jessner).
  • Demonstration of other additional indications and correction of complication (if available).

The Institute’s Online Aesthetic Library, contains over thousands of Slides, Papers, Textbooks and Videos. There are also several Clinical Training Videos, Cadaveric Dissection and Master Anatomy Videos for our Learners. The Online Aesthetic Library is constantly updated, giving Learner’s an opportunity for Continuous Professional Development.

The Online Aesthetic Library gives Learners the freedom to study, anytime, anywhere at their own convenience. The Online Aesthetic Medical Library is accessible for 12-months upon enrolment.

All the Certificates comes with Digitalized Credentials. The Digital Credentials allows employers, government agencies and other relevant personnel to verify the Learners Certificate and /or Program. The Digital Credentials authenticates that the Learner has undergone a genuine Aesthetic Medical Training Program in par with International standards. Learners can also display their Digital Credentials on their personal or corporate social media.

EUROPEAN INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY - CERTIFICATE VERIFICATION

The Institute is a registered Continuous Professional Development (CPD) provider with Malaysian Medical Association (MyCPD and CPD Online) as well as CPD Standards Office (UK). Malaysian Medical Doctors are entitled for the Continuous Professional Development (CPD) points for certain Programs (MyCPD and CPD Online), while International Doctors can utilize the CPD points from CPD Standards Office (UK).

The Institute also conducts regular CPD training activities, FOR MEDICAL DOCTORS only, such as the Annual IIWAM Experts Seminar (AIES), CPD in Stem Cell Medicine, CPD in Hair Transplant and CPD in Threadlift. Learners are encouraged to join the CPD Programs and gain advanced and updated insights in the field of Aesthetic Medicine.

CPD STANDARDS OFFICE - PROVIDER VERIFICATION

The Letter of Credentialing and Privileging (LCP) Examination is conducted by the Ministry of Health (Malaysia) and is applicable for Malaysian Medical Doctors only.

The Institute shall bear the cost of Botulinum Toxin, Skin Boosters, Dermal Filler and Chemical Peel when the Trainer does Clinical demonstration.

Laser training includes:

  • Fractional CO2 laser for skin rejuvenation
  • Carbon peel for skin rejuvenation
  • Q-Switch / Pico NdYAG laser for pigmentation and tattoo removal
  • Diode laser for hair removal
